City/School Elections, Nov. 4

Voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4 for City/School Elections. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. There are few contested elections for city council or school board on the ballot. However, several city council seats (at Britt and Klemme) have no announced candidates and can be filled by write-in ballot.

The following is a recap of area candidates for local city councils and school boards. Incumbent candidates are designated by an asterisk*.

CITY ELECTIONS

Garner

For mayor: Tim Schmidt*

Britt

Klemme

Public measure: Klemme voters will decide whether or not to reduce the number of trustees on the Klemme Public Library Board from six resident members and one non-resident member to four resident members and one non-resident member.

COMMUNITY COLLEGES

NIACC: David A. Steffens Jr., is a candidate or the Director District 1 on the North Iowa Area Community College Board of Directors.

ICCC: Kati Lemberg is a candidate to fill a vacancy on the Iowa Central Community College Board, Director District 1.

In addition, ICCC is seeking voter approval for a $35 million bonding to construct a new Ag Center on its Fort Dodge campus and expand instruction and learning across its curriculum.
