About Us
The Leader
The Leader has served the communities of Hancock County for over 100 years. The Leader is a continuation and consolidation of the Signal (founded in 1871); the Leader (founded in 1883), Herald (founded in 1885) and the CWL Times (founded in 1995). The Leader was purchased by Mid-America Publishing Corporation in 2007. It remains a MAP publication today.
The Leader is the official publication for Hancock County, the cities of Garner, Corwith, the Garner-Hayfield School District and the West Hancock School District. The Leader is also the official newspaper for the cities of LuVerne and Wesley in Kossuth County.
The Leader is proud to bring you the news of family, friends, communities and schools of Hancock County and the surrounding area.
Our office is at 485 State Street, Garner, Iowa, and is typically open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
