Agnes "Aggie" G. Voss

Agnes “Aggie” Voss, 90, of Garner, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Private graveside services will be held at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner with Rev. Scott Kozisek officiating. Cataldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Agnes Grace Voss, the daughter of Herman and Lydia (Erdmann) Ziehlsdorf, was born on February 12, 1934, in Clear Creek, Wisconsin. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1952. After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she worked at Glenwood Hills Hospital. She was married to Jack Watson, and four children were born to this union. They lived in Cedar Rapids where Aggie worked at a veterinarian clinic and bridal boutique store. On January 8, 1983, she married Al Voss. The couple lived in Garner for the rest of their married life. Aggie enjoyed her family, reading, sewing, wintering in Texas and Florida and was an avid golfer.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner where she was active in the church choir and LWML. Aggie sang in the Sweet Adeline’s and was past state president and commander of the VFW Auxiliary.

Aggie is survived by her four children, Lori (Lee) Clemons, Cheryl Hop, Craig Watson and Patty (Chuck) Bolinger; and five step-children, Janelle (Sonny) Monaghan, Jim Voss, Beth Smith, David (Mary) Voss and Steve (Deb) Voss. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Candace Gray, Adam (Sheena) Brewer, Zachary Brewer, Kathleen “Katie” Brewer, Jacob (Jamie) Bolinger, Whitney Bolinger (Spencer), Dylan Bolinger, Justin (Annie) Watson, Jessica (Ty) Robichaud and Griffin Watson.  She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Audrey Gray, Elliott Brewer, and Elizabeth “Elsie” Brewer; a brother Bernard Ziehlsdorf; and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Watson and Al Voss; her parents; and brothers, Reuben and Conrad Ziehlsdorf.

Aggie loved the care she received at Rockwell Community Nursing Home and cherished spending time with her great-granddaughter, Audrey, as well as visits from her family.

She will be remembered for her love, kindness, and the joy she brought to her family and friends. Aggie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
