June E. Wheeldon
June E. Wheeldon of rural Klemme, passed on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center. Public funeral services will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Reformed UCC Church-Klemme. Public visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at Andrews Funeral Home in Klemme. There will be an additional service on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Pleasantville, Iowa. Burial will be on Saturday in the Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, Iowa.
June Elizabeth Wheeldon was born on August 25, 1941, at her parents home in Lucas County, Iowa. She was one of nine children to bless the union of Albert and Shirley Wheeldon. June grew up in the Chariton, Iowa area where she attended and graduated from Chariton High School in the class of 1960. June was hard working and her entire life and her occupations were various, including working in food service, at Bishop’s Buffet in Des Moines, as a chef and the Good Samaratin Health Care in Forest City. She had also worked at a parts factory in Knoxville, and for 11 1/2 years at Ruan Leasing in Des Moines.
June met LeRoy Josten of Klemme in April of 1991, and the two have enjyed one another’s company and life journey since then. They enjoyed traveling, watching wrestling on TV (she would yell at the TV to who she wanted to win), and many more.
June was a very giving and caring lady who was always putting the needs of others before those of her own. Her faith life was very important to June and she was actively involved in her churches over her lifetime. She was a member of Immanuel Reformed UCC in Klemme since 2001, she was involved with Dorcas Circle, Women’s Fellowship, Klemme’s Grandma Club, Klemme Ag Days and many more. She was named “Queen of Klemme Grandma’s Club” on June 25, 2015.
She looked forward to having coffee and other gatherings to visit and truly never met a stranger. She could chat with anyone as if she knew them her whole life. She enjoyed canning, sewing lap blankets, robes, baby blankets for children, embroidering pillow cases, and collecting recipes.
Her memory will live on by LeRoy Josten, Klemme, children Greg (Lisa) Josten, Kenwick, Washington, Nancy (Aaron) Cook, Klemme, grandkids: Jason Josten, Ashley Josten, Eric Cook, Austin, Michael (Whitney) Cook, countless friends and family from the Knoxville area.
June was preceeded in death by her parents, infant sister and brother.
