Mark Fuller

Mark E. Fuller, 63, of Solon, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.

Mark was born on October 18, 1957 in Britt, to Lyle and JoAnne (Thielen) Fuller. He grew up in Garner, Iowa in a “fuller” house, the fourth of eight kids. In his early twenties, Mark moved to California where he met his wife of 30 years. Rochelle says he had her at, “I’m from Iowa and I play piano!” Together they brought three beautiful children into the world. As babies, Mark had the gift of singing and rocking the little ones to sleep with lyrics that were his own.

He worked for ECOLAB in California, Davenport, and surrounding areas. With his background in restaurant management and love for cooking, he managed Seafood Broiler in California and eventually helped run BOAB in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, a family business. Mark moved on to work for United Rentals where he excelled in sales and had a knack for working with the customers.

Mark loved life! He bravely endured surgeries and various treatments for brain cancer over the past 18 years. He never let the disease define him. He was a fun-loving family man, had a quick wit, and loved to make people laugh. Mark was known by many names: “Taz,” “Foley,” “Lowey,” and “Squatch,” to name a few, but he was most proud to be called “Dad” and “Grandpa.”

Mark is survived by his wife, Rochelle; his two daughters, Alexandra and Muriel (son-in-law, Jordan Roe; and grandson, Callan Roe); and his son, Miles, as well as his mother, JoAnne; brothers Joe, Steve, John and Greg Fuller; and his sister, Tres Brown. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Fuller; brother, Mike Fuller; and sister, Susie Grove.

As per Mark’s request, the family is holding a celebration of life near his hometown this spring. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon are caring for Mark and his arrangements.

The family would like to extend thanks to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Solon First Responders, and Unity Point Hospice for the care Mark received.
