Hancock County courthouse, buildings closed to public

Hancock County Board of Supervisors and county officials met Wednesday morning to discuss a plan action regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and governmental services in Hancock County. Here is the resolution that was approved by the board:

Effective immediately on March 18, 2020, the Hancock County Board of Supervisors, due to COVID-19 and public health concerns, has closed to the public all Hancock County offices and buildings listed below for an indefinite duration. 

The Board of Supervisors intends to reassess public access as additional information is received regarding the COVID-19 virus. It is our intent to continue essential publicservices. Appointments are required.

Clerk of Court is remaining open and essential court proceedings are still taking place in which access will be available at the East elevator entrance available on the northeast corner of the courthouse to deliver any necessary paperwork to specific offices.

Mail drop boxes will be available on the northeast corner of the courthouse to deliver any necessary paperwork to specific offices.

Candidates wishing to file paperwork for the June 2, 2020 Primary Election (due by 5:00 p.m. on March 25, 2020) or November 3, 2020 General Election (due by 5:00 p.m. on March 20, 2020), please contact theAuditor’s office at 641-923-3163 and schedule an appointment to bring the paperwork in.
