What does the mayor do?

Garner Mayor Tim Schmidt recently spoke to 7th graders in Carter Henken's social studies class at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura about what the duties of the city council and mayor are and how local government works. GHV seventh graders were invited to participate in an essay contest, "If I were mayor." The winners of the essay contest will be announced in April.
