Treats on the Street and Halloween Happenings

A wide selection of Halloween events are being prepared for the last week of October. Trick-or-treat hours and other related events in the Hancock County area include the following communities:

Garner

            The Garner Chamber of Commerce has organized its annual “Treats on the Street” event for the children at 10 a.m. on October 26. Participants will need to line up at either the Edward Jones Office or the Garland/Rodriguez Law Office. Treat bags will be provided to those who lack one. At 11 a.m., The Avery Theater will have a free showing of “Hotel Transylvania” with free small pops and free small popcorn provided. Finally, on Tuesday, October 31, trick or treating will last from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Britt

            The Britt Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring “Treats on the Street” on Saturday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wearing a costume into participating businesses will reward participants with treats. Photos can also be taken at city hall. The Britt Christian Reformed Church will also be hosting a “Trunk or Treat” event outside the church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. during Treats on the Street. City trick or treat hours in Britt are 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 31.

Klemme

            The North Iowa Jeep Club and Klemme Ag Days are sponsoring the Jeep-o-Ween celebration on Saturday, November 2. The celebration will be held at City Park starting at 4 p.m. and ending at 7 p.m. The Jeep Club encourages anyone in the community to come out and hand out candy to the kids. Klemme Ag Days is hosting a fundraiser chili dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Door-to-door trick or treat hours are 5-7 p.m. on November 2.

Kanawha

            City-wide trick or treating hours in Kanawha are 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 31. Starting at 6 p.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m., the Kanawha Youth Activity Group will be serving hot dogs and chips and hosting pumpkin painting and games at the Kanawha fire station.

Corwith

            Corwith’s Community Club will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event on Sunday, October 27. The event will take place on Elm Street from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to decorate their trunks for the event. Hot dogs and chips will be provided.

Crystal Lake & Woden

Halloween trick or treat hours for both Woden and Crystal Lake are 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 31. During that time, the Woden Community Club will also host a Trunk or Treat event at the north park.

Goodell

            Halloween trick or treat hours in Goodell are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 31. During that time, the American Legion will be hosting a trunk or treat at Goodell City Hall and invites everyone to participate.
