Shirley Lou Greiman
Shirley Lou Greiman, age 89, formally of Garner, died July 2 2024, at St.Marys Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 1 1935 in Garner Iowa she was the daughter of the late Addis and Ruth (Schipull) Greiman
She grew up on a farm in Iowa, graduated from Garner-Hayfield High school and also attended The Chicago Institute of Art.
Shirley accomplished many things over her lifetime she owned and operated The Black Dog Tavern with former husband Fritz Zivic. She also showed and bred Black Standard Schnauzers, worked as a buyer for Lord & Taylor, owned an antique store, ran estate sales. She was also very dedicated to God she was president of the ECW for 14 years of St. Andrews church in Bloomfield Ct. and also the president of the national board of the ECW for many years.
She enjoyed cooking, entertaining friends and family, traveling, exploring new restaurants, gardening, shopping, politics, and volunteering at her church. Shirley moved to Colorado so she could be close to her family she enjoyed shopping, overnights, and just spending time with her grand daughters and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Jeffrey Zivic and wife Reka of Florida, daughter Melissa Urban and husband Jon of Colorado, their Children Jessica Urban (Mike), Whitney Urban (Jed). Great grandchildren Madison,Jackson,Antonio,Amelia, Bailey, Alexandria, and twins Perrin and Vincent, many nieces and nephews, and dear friend Holly Malone of Granby Ct.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Donald and Clifford Greiman
