Police: Suspect killed two, then shot himself
Authorities are now confirming gunshot wounds after law enforcement found three individuals dead and one injured with the shooter allegedly turning the gun on himself.
A 911 call came in at 3:58 a.m. Sunday morning from a location in the 110 block of Willow Lane.
“The caller advised that there were multiple individuals at that location that were unresponsive,” said Chief Josh Nelson in a statement. “When the Iowa Falls Police Officer arrived he found 3 deceased individuals. One person was transported to the Hansen Family Hospital with non-fatal injuries.”
Authorities are now calling it a domestic situation.
“Two of the deceased individuals that died from gunshot wounds are now being identified as 42-year-old Jessica Marie Bennett of Iowa Falls and 51-year-old Alan Jandro Karalius of Garner, Iowa,” according to a statement put out late Monday by the Iowa Falls Police Department. “The third deceased individual found inside the residence was also identified as 45-year-old Shawn Michael Bean 45, of Iowa Falls. It was determined that Bean died from a self- inflicted gunshot wound after shooting Bennett, Jandro and a third person, who is not being identified at this time.”
The injured person is expected to survive, according to police.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has been asked to help with the investigation as has the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Hardin County E-Squad and Iowa State Patrol.
