Paige Roberts crowned 2021 County Fair Queen

The Hancock County Fair Queen Pageant was back in 2021. Paige Roberts of Garner was crowned county fair queen on Wednesday, July 28.

The daughter of Adam and Pam Roberts, Paige is a member of the Concord Challengers 4-H Club. She is will be a senior at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura where she is a member of the Iowa River FFA Chapter, FCCLA and National Honor Society. Her future plans include college.

She is involved in numerous school, club and community activities. She is president of the FFA Chapter at GHV and currently serves as on the Hancock County 4-H Council.

Roberts exhibited hogs, poultry and several static projects at the 2021 fair. She participated in a new program called - “Bacon Buddies.”  The Bacon Buddies program is where 4-H or FFA members are paired with special needs kids and gives them the opportunity to interact with livestock and show pigs..

Paige will represent Hancock County at the Iowa State Fair Queen Pageant.

Emma Kudej, daughter of Angie and Andy Kudej, was runner-up. A member of the Orthel Jolly Workers 4-H Club and Iowa River FFA, Emma exhibited horse, beef, sheep and goats projects at the fair.

She will be a senior at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura. She is also a member of the FCCLA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society.

She has participated in numerous volunteer activities in the county.

Fair Princess

Bristelle Bakken, is the 2021 Fair Princess. Bristelle is the daughter of Brade and Brooke Bakken of Garner. She will be a 3^rdgrader at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura. 

Queen Paige and Princess Bristelle will also represent the Hancock County District Fair at various community events during the year.

Runner-up for the princess contest was Bailey Wunder, daughter of Brenda and Gregg Wunder of Kanawha. Bailey is a student at West Hancock Elementary. 

Other participants in the Princess Pageant were: Kenley Abele, daughter of Ron And Melissa Abele; Brynlee Basinger, daughter of Rich and Janan Basinger; Avery Eekhoff, daughter of Andrew and Amanda Eekhoff; Kylie Eisenman, daughter of Dave and Sarah Eisenman; Racelyn Hadacek, daughter of Rusty and Brandi Hadacek; Alexis Quentin, daughter of Anita and Tom Quentin; and Mallory Reinert, daughter of Mark and Leah Reinert.
