Marcella “Sally” Weiskamp, 96, of Britt, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Westview Care Center in Britt.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sally Weiskamp will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 335 First Avenue South East in Britt, with Father Joseph Sevcik officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt.
Marcella “Sally” (Ptacek) Weiskamp was born August 7, 1925 to Adolph and Mary (Nedved) Ptacek on the family farm.
Sally attended country school (Liberty #3) in Hancock County.
OnJune4, 1947, Sally was united in marriage to Arthur Weiskamp, and to this union, son Jerry was born.
Sally worked a variety of jobs over the years, at the milk plant in Britt, the hemp plant at the fairgrounds in Britt, and at Hancock County Memorial Hospital as a nursery nurse, where she retired after 40 years of service.
Sally’s faith was incredibly important in her life, she served as a Eucharistic Minister for the sick and nursing home bound for many years.
Sally enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tatting, making blankets and baking Bohemian recipes.
Sally is survived by her sister, Frances (Allan) Doughan of Britt; daughter-in-law Mary Lou Weiskamp of Britt; grandchildren Andy (Courtney) Weiskamp, Randy (Ashley) Weiskamp and Dawn (Derek) Grooters; 9 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Arther Francis Weiskamp; her son, Jerry Weiskamp; great-grandson Kael Grooters; siblings Mary (James) Kral, Tony (Ilene) Ptacek,Agnes (Michael) Kumsher, Blanche (Robert) Witte, Clarence (Virgil) Ptacek, and Margaret (Bud) Schleusner.
