Linda R. Kollash-Arnold
Linda Rae Kollasch-Arnold, 73, of Garner passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at the JourneyCare hospice facility in Barrington, IL after losing her battle with Covid. She was 73 years old.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Fr. Ben Valentine officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.
Linda was born to Lyle and Darlene Divan on November 16, 1948, in Belmond, IA. After graduating from Thompson High School in 1967 and continuing her education at NIACC, she married her husband John Robert Kollasch in June of 1968 in Thompson. They welcomed their son, Mike, in January of 1969 and moved to Garner in 1970. She called Garner home for the rest of her life. After John’s passing in 1989 she met Jim Arnold and they married in April of 1992.
Linda loved to bake and spread happiness to everyone she met. She was an accomplished bowler and was a member of a local bowling league for years. She also felt called to be of service and was an active member of the Wa-Tan-Ye’s and the Lions Club. She worked at Home Federal Savings and Loan and Clear Lake Bank and Trust for over 20 years, Gouge Trucking, and Hancock County Health Services. Her warmth, friendliness, and big heart were felt by all who know her.
Linda is survived by her son, Michael (Kirstin) Kollasch; step-son, Dale Arnold; step-daughter, Karen (Whitney) Miguez; step-grandchildren, Ella Krotz, Cassidy Arnold, and Kaitllyn Crain; sister, Carolyn (Bob) Sunde; brother, Alan (Pam) Divan; her best friend since childhood, Linda Piersol; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Darlene Divan; and husbands, John Kollasch and Jim Arnold.
