Lenten Meditations at Kanawha

KANAWHA - The Kanawha Fire Station meeting room is the site for women's coffees on four Wednesdays during Lent. Each will start at 9 a.m. and feature music, Bible reading, prayer, a Lenten meditation, Christian fellowship and something good to eat. Coffee will be served.

The March 12 event will be hosted by the Kanawha Lutherans. Hosting on March 19 will be the Kanawha United Methodists. The Kanawha Christian Reformed Church will host on March 26 and the Wright Christian Reformed Church will host on April 2.

All area women are welcome. These events are held annually at Kanawha.  It is a Lenten tradition.

50-Year Tradition at Kanawha

KANAWHA - Wednesdays in Lent mean community breakfasts for Kanawha area men. Every year for at least the last 50, Kanawha men have gathered at 6:30 a.m. for Christian fellowship, Bible reading, prayer, singing, a Lenten message and a hearty all-you-can-eat breakfast.

The events are conducted by laymen. The events are open to all area men and  are free-will. The breakfasts are cooked on site.
The first of the four breakfasts will be March 12 at the Kanawha Lutheran Church.  The others will be March 19 at the Kanawha United Methodist Church, March 26 at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church and April 2 at the Wright Christian Reformed Church, south of town.
