GHV Wrestling Wins Home Triangular

GARNER- The GHV wrestling team hosted Nevada and Clear Lake for wrestling triangular on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The Cards went undefeated with a record of 2-0 on the day. The Cards defeated Clear Lake by a dominating score of 53-30, and defeated Nevada 48-36. Five GHV wrestlers went a perfect 2-0 on the day.
Gunner Fry wrestled 106 and went 2-0 on the day. He defeated Clear Lake’s John Amos by fall at 3:40, and defeated Nevada’s Bryson Grimm in a 1:44 fall.
Kaleb Feld went 2-0 on the day, competing at 113 against Clear Lake and defeated Hayden Shear by a 16-1 technical fall. He wrestled 120 against Nevada and won by fall at 1:24 over Hunter Haley.
Brayden Lunning went 1-1. He wrestled at 120 against Clear Lake and defeated John Hamilton by fall at 1:43. He wrestled 126 against Nevada and lost to Damian Hoover by fall at 0:58.
Samuel Katter wrestled 126 and finished 1-1. He bested Clear Lake’s Jeseb Prestholt by fall at 2:32. He competed at 132 against Nevada and lost by fall at 5:09 to Fletcher Williams.
Keith Johnson competed at 138 and won his Clear Lake match by forfeit.
Jace Hendrikson wrestled 138 against Nevada and won his match by fall at 1:13 over Evan Johns.
Zander Rosaur wrestled at 144 and went 1-1 on the day. Rosaur won his Clear Lake match by forfeit before losing to Max Reed of Nevada by fall at 0:55.
Dennis Beery competed at 150 and went 2-0. He took the win against Clear Lake by forfeit. Beery defeated Jude Tucker of Nevada by fall at 3:07.
Lucas Kral wrestled at 157 and finished the day at 2-0, defeating Clear Lake’s Aiden Hippen by fall at 4:25. Kral also claimed a win against Nevada, beating Luke Robinson by fall at 2:30.
John Fuentes wrestled 165 and went 1-1. He lost his Clear Lake match by fall at 1:52 to Raif Baack. Fuentes lost to Isaac Williams of Nevada by fall at 0:52.
Parker Moritz wrestled 190 and finished the day 2-0. He won his Clear Lake match by fall at 2:25 over Jack Hackman. He then defeated Carson Reed of Nevada by fall at 2:33.
At 285 was Dominic Holder, who went 1-1. He lost to Clear Lake’s Aaron Richtsmeier by fall at 1:46. Holder defeated Isaac Harrington of Nevada by fall at 1:49.
