Feenstra Refuses To Debate; Uses Biden Basement Strategy
To the editor:
Randy Feenstra continues to use the “Joe Biden basement campaign strategy.” He sends only surrogates to talk to “The People.” The only visits Feenstra makes to the counties he represents are targeted, invitation only, CLOSED to the public meetings. His “visits” are made public the following week via media reports of the visit(s).
In 2020, Representative Feenstra requested, and was granted a debate with Rep. Steve King. Now, during the 2024 campaign season, Randy has been extended NUMEROUS invitations to debate his primary opponent, Kevin Virgil. These invitations included KTIV TV (Sioux City), The Daily Reporter (Spencer) and a scheduled May 29 Denison, Iowa forum moderated by Sheriff David Clark. Many other debate invitations have been declined by Representative Feenstra.
Why is Feenstra afraid of a public debate? His record explains it.
Much of Randy’s allegiance is to Washington D.C. establishment elites. On December 9, 2023, Randy hosted a fundraiser at Dordt College in Sioux Center (where Randy taught for several years) featuring Presidential candidates Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, among others. President Trump was not included. On December 28, Dordt College, at the last minute cancelled a scheduled Trump event, forcing the Trump campaign to scramble making last minute arrangements. It’s interesting to note, Feenstra has been silent on supporting President Trump, the presumptive Republican Presidential nominee.
We have had enough of the Washington D.C. establishment influence in Iowa and the nation. Please consider voting for Kevin Virgil in the June 4 Republican primary. He will represent the people of Iowa and SUPPORT President Trump in his attempt to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
