A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, July 19, 2024 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, Iowa 50401. He graduated from Forest City High School with the class of 1997. He later attended Iowa Lakes Community College. Eric held a number of positions over the years until he had to undergo kidney dialysis and later transplant in 2011. He welcomed his only son Riley into the world December 12, 2001. He was united in marriage to Shaada Mennear June 22, 2013 at Temple Baptist Church in Mason City.

Family meant a great deal to Eric. He enjoyed every waking moment he could spend with them; be it his brother, mother, son, nephew, wife. No one ever thought they’d see the day he was married, but his love for Shaada proved them wrong. He formed close bonds with his in-laws, Dawn Mennear and Kim (Gary) Miles. Eric enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, White Sox Baseball and fishing. He also was an avid fan of Farm Simulator, going through a number of consoles over the years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shaada; son Riley; mother, Karen; brothers, Jeremy and Hunter; sister-in-law, Tiffany Adams; uncle, Dennis; aunt, Dianne Nettifee; cousins, Drew and Denver and Tara and Jarrod; beloved furbaby, Rocky; as well as many friends and extended family.

Preceding him in death are his father, Gregory; uncle, Rick; maternal grandparents, Ruth and Charlie Waters; paternal grandparents Donna and Wilbert Nettifee; cousin Darcie Nettifee-Vasquez.

His family is proud that he was able to offer the gift of donation in his passing through the Iowa Donor Network.
