Britt Car Cruise celebrates successful year
The Britt Car, Truck, Bike and Tractor Night Cruise wrapped up it’s final show for 2021 on Wednesday to great success.
The car show saw its largest crowd in the event’s four-year history, packing the main street of Britt to admire up to 400 vehicles.
This year saw a dramatic increase in vehicles entered with the first show of the year bringing over 600 cars.
Show promoter and owner of main sponsor Mojo Productions Jared Wingert can hardly believe the success of the events.
“Every time I go home after the show and go to bed, I just lay there in disbelief and I’m just about numb.” He said. “I’m so happy we’re able to do this.”
Wingert said that this is more than a car show, but an event for the entire community to come and enjoy.
The Britt Car Cruise features several free activities for children which included magicians, clowns, a caricature artist and photo booths this year.
Sponsors such as the Garner Chamber of Commerce have helped to offer free snow cones and kettle corn for kids as well.
“We want to see something happen during the weeknights in Britt and see our town come alive,” Wingert said. “It’s a way to bring people into town, entertain them… and then support the local businesses.
The car show is designed to involve local businesses, especially restaurants and food vendors.
The event is also sponsored by the Britt Chamber of Commerce
“We’re keeping the money in the community,” Wingert said.
Despite wrapping up for 2021, the Britt Car, Truck, Bike and Tractor Night Cruise is already ramping up for 2022 shows.
“We’re already putting out flyers for the next one,” he said.
WIngert said that the car show would like to implement a better registration system for next season.
There’s a lot of vehicles that will show up, but not register, which leaves them out of the running to receive prizes and makes it harder for the event to properly count how many participants attended.
Wingert also mentioned wanting to bring in a well-known person associated with vehicles in the future.
