Absentee Voting For June 4 Primary

Hancock County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections has announced that absentee ballots for the June 4, 2024, Primary Election will be available in the Auditor’s Office beginning Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Absentee ballots may be cast in the Hancock County Auditor’s Office at the Hancock County Courthouse, during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, through June 3, 2024. The Hancock County Auditor’s office will be open until 5:00 p.m. on the following days: Monday-May 20, 2024 and Friday-May 31, 2024. The Auditor’s office will also be open Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Absentee ballots must be requested in writing. The following information must be provided: Name, Date of Birth, Iowa residential address, Voter Verification Number: Iowa Driver’s License or Non-Operator ID Number OR Four-digit Voter PIN number found on voter’s Iowa Voter ID card, Name and Date of the election requesting an absentee ballot, Signature and date the form was completed. 

Voters are encouraged to provide a phone number and email address in the event of contacting the voter to confirm information on the request form. 

Request forms are available at the Auditor’s Office, on the Hancock County election website at elections.hancockcountyia.govunder quick links-How Do I Vote? and also found on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website at sos.iowa.gov. All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received by the Auditor’s Office by 5:00 p.m., May 20, 2024. 

Ballots must be received by the Auditor’s Office by 8 p.m. on Election Day, June 4, 2024.
