Etta Lou Bier

Etta Lou Bier, 96, of Garner, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Westview Care Center in Britt.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Garner United Methodist Church with Rev. Kristin Peters officiating. Burial will be at Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, January 27th at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4thSt., Garner and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Etta Lou Darlene Bier, daughter of Daniel and Alice (Quick) Webner, was born March 28, 1928, on a farm in Hancock County. She attended the rural schools of Hancock County until the eighth grade and helped her family on the farm. On December 14, 1946, she was married to Lloyd Bier at the Reformed Church parsonage in Klemme. They lived on farms in the Klemme, Kanawha and Garner areas. Etta Lou cleaned at Winnebago Industries, and Prairie View Apartments and also helped her son, Lloyd, Jr. at Pizza Ranch in Garner. After Lloyd, Sr. passed away in 2001 she continued to live on the farm southwest of Garner until moving into Garner.  In 2023 she became a resident of Westview Care Center in Britt. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to auctions with Lloyd.

She was a member of the Garner United Methodist Church and UMW.

Etta Lou is survived by her children, Roberta (Keith) Carolus of Klemme, Diana (Bill) Deibler of Hayfield and Lloyd, Jr. (Jan) Bier of Garner; grandchildren, Barbara (Gary) Ralston and their son, Brian (April), Dawn (Curtis) Taylor and their son, Clark, Brad (Jesse) Carolus and their children, Bretta and Wyatt, Dan Carolus (Jessica Lane) and son, Jakoby, Jennifer (Ryan) Osterkamp and their children, Tyler and Ian, Billy (Becky) Deibler and their children, Brynlee and Bennett, Bri (Ryan) Parslow and their daughter, Scarlett and Wes (Mary) Bier; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd, great-grandson, Christopher Ralston, brothers, Herb (Amy) Webner, Don (Rosella) Webner, and Ted Webner; and sisters, Estella (Mike) Kinsella, Syble (Kenneth) Schlawin, and Doris (Willard) Palmer.
