GARNER – Wanda J. Wold, 96, of Garner passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Concord Care Center in Garner.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner with Rev. Scott Kozisek officiating.  Burial will be at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.  Cataldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda June Wold, the daughter of Homer and Edith (June) Brown, was born March 24, 1925 at Merrill, Iowa.  She graduated from Merrill High School in 1943 and continued her education at St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Sioux City where she became a registered nurse.  On May 30, 1948 she was married to James Oliver Wold at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in San Diego, Minnesota.  They lived in San Diego, Mount Vernon, IL and in 1959 moved to Glencoe, MN.  In 1966, they moved to Garner.  Wanda was employed as an RN at Concord Care Center and for Hancock County Public Health until her retirement.  Wanda and Jim wintered for several years in Arizona.  She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, gardening, golfing, and going to casinos.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, LWML, St. Paul Choir, a bowling team in Garner, a bridge club and the Garner Women’s Golf Association.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Jim of Garner; three children, Candy (Bill) Engstler of Clear Lake, Juli (Michael) Thackery of Ventura and Kerry (Chris) Wold of Danville, IN; grandchildren, Kari (Steve) Jones, Jami (David) Enright, Brian (Emily) Engstler, Dan (Heidi) Engstler, Nicholas (Michele) Thackery, Seth (Jennifer) Thackery, Melodee (Dustin) Ward, Samantha (Michael) Quinn and Kayleigh (Cody) Rees.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Joshua James Wold; and three sisters, Florence, Virginia and Georgia.
