Marjorie Pringnitz, 92, of Britt, formerly of Kanawha, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at the Kanawha Community Home.

Funeral services for Marjorie Pringnitz will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025 at the Kanawha Methodist Church, 402 North Main Street, in Kanawha.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025 at Ewing Funeral Home, 118 East Second Street, in Kanawha, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Marjorie LaVonne Pilquist Pringnitz was born March 19, 1933 at the Clay County farm home to John and Viola Pilquist. She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven, Iowa. She was a member of Kanawha United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Ruthven High School in 1950 and then attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, IA. After graduation, she worked in Mason City. A friend introduced her to her future husband, Ron Pringnitz, at The Surf. They were married in 1957. 

Marjorie then learned the art of becoming a farmer’s wife and mother. Ron and Marge had 4 children, Tami, Sandi, Steve and Jill. Marge always had a large vegetable garden and made home-cooked meals for every meal. She was especially known for her delicious pies and cinnamon rolls! 

Marge was active in United Methodist Women and in the community. Marge and Ron lived on the home farm for 50 years and then moved to the town of Kanawha. They enjoyed their last years together at the Summit House in Britt IA.

Marge is survived by her four children, Tami Guerrier of Huntersville NC, Sandi Pringnitz of Garner IA, Steve Pringnitz (Linda) of Willis TX, Jill French (Scott Mollenkopf) of Greensboro NC, grandchildren, Hannah (Guerrier) Kroenig (Jeremy) of Charlotte NC, Jonathon Guerrier (Stephanie) of Huntersville NC, Tyler Pringnitz (Courtney) of Royse City TX, Zachary Pringnitz (Larizza) of Cypress TX, Hansen French (Maggie) of Charlotte NC, Grace French (Derek Skeen) of Durham NC, Jyoti French of Durham NC, and seven great-grandchildren, Merritt, Nora and Banks Guerrier of Huntersville NC, Harlyn and Garrick Pringnitz of Royse City TX, Alden Pringnitz of Cypress TX and Kathryn French of Charlotte NC and sister-in-law Boni Pringnitz and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, her parents, her sisters, Ilene Myrvold and Lois Grange, two brothers-in-law, Bob Grange and Wyman Myrvold and a grandson, Peter French.
