Eagles Volleyball Drops Two

The West Hancock volleyball team (0-7) had two games this week as they played the North Union Warriors (3-4) on Tuesday, September 5, and the North Iowa Bison (7-1). The Eagles lost to North Union and North Iowa, both in three sets. 

Eagles Fall to North Union 

The Eagles lost to North Union by scores of 13-25, 17-25, and 14-25. As a team, the Eagles had 11 assists in the game, 11 kills, five blocks, eight digs, and six serve aces. 

Payton Whipple led the Eagles in kills with four, had one assist, one block, and one ace. Cooper Sobek had three kills and one assist. Whytnie Johnson had four digs, two blocks, two assists, two aces, and one kill.  Faith Steenblock had four assists, one kill, one dig, and one ace. Damaris Duran had three digs and one ace. 

North Iowa Bests West Hancock

On Thursday, September 7, the West Hancock volleyball team (0-8) played the North Iowa Bison (8-1) at home. The Eagles lost in three sets by scores of 18-25, 8-25, and 15-25. 

The Eagles had 13 assists in the game, 13 kills, four blocks, 24 digs, and three serve aces. 

Whytnie Johnson led the team in kills with five, and in blocks with four, while adding 11 digs, and one assist. Faith Steenblock led in assists with eight and added two digs. 

Cooper Sobek had three kills. Claire Johnson had five assists. Charlie Bruggeman collected two kills and one dig. Payton Whipple had two kills, three digs, and led the team in aces with three. Carlie Johnson had seven digs. Eden Nielsen had a kill. Claire Johnson had five assists.
