Cheryl Ann Norstrud Mehman

Cheryl Ann Norstrud was born on September 21, 1967, in Long Beach, California. Her parents were Richard and Karen (Beane) Norstrud. She received her education in the Britt Public School System.

She attended Britt Bethel Baptist Church where she was Saved in 1977 and Baptized in 1978. After the death of one husband and a failed marriage to another Cheryl met Edward Mehmen. The couple fell in love and were united in marriage on September 4, 2004, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Cheryl ultimately was blessed with two sons. Cheryl remained happily married for the next 17 years until her death on June 20,2021.

Cheryl was a hard worker that focused on her compassionate care of geriatric patients. For health reasons she had to give up her work at the Clarksville Nursing Home. Prior to her employment in Clarksville she also worked at the nursing home in Greene.

She enjoyed her family and friends. She liked to fish, and go on trips to see the NASCAR races. Cheryl liked to crochet and made hundreds of Afghans and doilies. She was very gifted and her handiwork was a blessing to many people. The joy of her life, however, was her two granddaughters whom she adored.

Cheryl will be sadly missed by her husband Edward Mehmen, Greene; two sons: Casey Lee Olson, Charles City; Justin Alan PeCoy, Oskaloosa; two granddaughters, Lainey Lee Olson and Laci Ann Olson, St. Ansgar; her mother Karen Norstrud, Charles City; her sister Laurie Minehart, Clarks Grove, MN; her brother Davin (Joleen) Norstrud, Britt; sister-in-law Vicki (Gary) Kahlstorf; many friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ronald Lee Olson, her father, her grandparents Ralph and Eunice (Askelson) Beane.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the family at P.O. Box 219 Green, Iowa 50636.
